Overview

M.A.S.H. (Manifest, Affirm, Soul Search, and Heal) Planner is a digital interactive planner/journal. As the product designer, I was in charge of branding for the company and designing the individual pages of the journal.

Branding

Coming from the children's game MASH (Mansion, Apartment, Shack, House), the M.A.S.H. Planner's goal is to help its users manifest the best version of themselves that they desire to be. Thus, the brand identity was based on manifestation and astrology. With the use of Adobe Illustrator, I created the logos, color palette, and typography.

Wireframing

From our brainstorming session, the owner wanted the planner to have a monthly, weekly, and daily schedule template that would help users organize their monthly, weekly, and daily tasks. In addition, they wanted to include reflection and manifestation prompts for soul searching and healing. Using Adobe InDesign helped me create a user friendly interface that allows the user to click through each tab and navigate to that page instead of scrolling through the different pages.

Final Designs

The final design was finalized on Adobe InDesign and exported as a PDF. As a PDF, the interactive planner is compatible with Goodnotes, Notability, and any other note-taking alternatives. Figma was also used to create the product pictures.

Reflection

I've always loved journaling and continue to journal to this day. When the owner of M.A.S.H. Planner reached out with this idea, I was ecstatic to join the team.

It was a fun experience as it was intended to be used on an iPAD or iPhone. To me, it was like designing and developing the front end of an app. Since it's only the front end, I was able to focus on the visual designs and interface without having to worry about how to code the features on the back end.

Working on this project helped me develop my skills in graphic design through the creation of the brand's identity. The combination of graphic design and my knowledge of user experience design influenced the journal's framework as it was developed in a way that was visually pleasing to the eye while also still being user friendly. This project also helped me improve my skills with Adobe InDesign and Figma by becoming more familiar with the program.
